Atrocities Committed in Greek Civil War
Robert Fisk returns to Europe's not so distant past tells us of the carnage of the Greek Civil War that took place immediately after the Second World War. Tortures, beheadings and mass graves committed by each side, left and right. As British intelligence noted only the left could put up a good fight againist the Germans and therefore were armed during the war. But the feeling towards them had changed when the world war was over and the Americans and the British favored a right wing military junta that set the tone in the coming decades in the Middle East.
