Fiction of After Death, Cemetary of Eyup

When darkness settled in on the Eyüp Cemetary tombstones stood buried within the foliage and trees that grew around them. The cars passing down below on the coastal road along the Golden Horn... The buzz of life still goes on in the arteries of the city in the background. Once there was a time when people looked at the city from this point and heard none of the hum and dazzled by the electric light. They just heard the calls of crows and sometimes the sound of the wind through the trees. The old and the gone, this fiction of after death called a cemetary made collectively by the people of Istanbul through centuries sat so calmly on the background of a lively city.

When i had looked at the photo again, a gleam between the double tombstones indicated Fatih Mosque sitting on top of the fourth hill on the horizon, another monument dedicated to the anxiety of permanence.
