Stray Dogs of Istanbul

After the coup againist the Ottoman government, Progress and Union Party set its eyes on the stray dogs of Istanbul as one of its municipal aims. Maybe cleaner streets they had in mind but the method they choose was horrific and cruel foreshadowing the things to come. They gathered the dogs from the streets to throw them away in one of the Prince's Islands by boat. It was rumoured that the barks of the dogs could be heard from the shore and people deemed the loss of the Great War was because of that tragedy.
