Indonesian Food, Spices, and the Dutch

Chicken and fish seem to be common ingredients in Indonesian food being natural as the country is a congregation of islands. Rice from the Asian mainland is the ground used especially for chicken scraps. Spices are added generously to meals which makes me remember the unfortunate past of Indonesia. It was the demand for these spices that pulled in the Dutch to these islands and install extractive plantation institutions exacerbating the situation of people here.
