A Story of Perseverance, The Man Who Planted Trees
"The Man Who Planted Trees" is a story of perseverance. A man who lost everything in life trying to change the fate of nature around him that had lost every bit of life on it. The progress made from a grey deserted town into a place where there is full of life is shown through the eyes of a passerby who happened to meet the shepherd living like a hermit. He plants oak seeds by himself never losing hope or caring about the catastrophes of two world wars. The animated short film which is a piece of master pencil work has an eternal feeling to it as if the story was from Biblical times. It was adapted to animated short by Frédéric Back and released in 1987 based on the allegorical tale by French author Jean Giono published in 1953.
